Frequently asked questions

Can I recommend Mizu to all my CKD patients?
Yes, Mizu supports all CKD stages, from pre-dialysis, to dialysis and transplantation. As the user's CKD stage changes, so will app content and functionality. This means for example that the app provides new knowledge content for each CKD stage and recommendations in the food diary are adapted according to respective medical guidelines in prevention, dialysis or transplantation.
Which functions does Mizu offer?
Mizu guides your CKD patients to take charge of all their daily tasks related to kidney health. In doing so, patients can track vital & lab parameters in their logbook, or add their complete medication plan and automate intake reminders. Mizu also contains a CKD-specific food diary with personalized nutrient breakdowns, as well as tons of medically validated educational resources with tips & tricks for the daily life with CKD.
Aren’t most of my patients too old to use an App?
Definitely not! Especially in recent years, the affinity of older generations toward smartphones and wearables has increased significantly. The best proof of that are our thousands of Mizu users, who already use Mizu as a helpful companion for managing their everyday life and as an advisor for all questions related to their CKD.
How does Mizu handle patient data?
Mizu adheres to strict data privacy rules, safely encrypted data transfer and all of its data is stored in certified servers within the EU. Furthermore, Mizu will not pass on patient data to third parties, unless users explicitly give consent to do so in the app (e.g., sharing vital parameters with their physician).
What features are you planning for Mizu?
We are currently working on a series of exciting tools to further support individuals with CKD and make patient-physician interactions more satisfying. Sign up to our newsletter to stay up to date with our medical roadmap and to find out more about what’s coming in the near future.
Who is behind Mizu?
